Hi All,

While ordering some stuff from Amazon on impulse I added this to my basket with this group build in mind.

Back in the '70's I must have had a battalion of these - well a platoon at least.  I'm not to spend time looking for and correcting errors - I'm just going build it as is.

Painting the wheels next - groan!

Dave.

Painting Panther roadwheels equals to what a vacuum cleaner does: s****

I had 11 Revell 1:72 Panthers built for wargaming. They were all finished - except the wheels and L&L tracks. Just couldn't force myself to painting 264 rubber rims. My Panzer coy was always "hull down" :banghead:

I hate Panther wheels. Definitely. Forever. V-P

Thats coming along great Dave. Didn’t take very long to get to this stage at all. Could be a good beginner kit to dip ones toes into armour - says the idiot with over 150 aircraft kits still in the stash!!

She’ll be in the ‘Gallery’ soon.

Cheers.. Dave

Hi All

It took me a while to summon up the will to paint the wheels, but I managed to eventually.

...not perfect, but with the tracks and coating of mud should be OK.

I've had a go at the base as well. A few finishing touches and I'll call that done.

Hi All,

The tracks, decals and bit more paint are on.

The tracks are the worst aspect of this kit - not at all realistic and very tight fitting.  I've stretched the tracks quite a bit and super-glued them to the top of the wheels to improve the appearance a bit.

I've made a start on the weathering with the tracks, finishing the weathering is the next job.

Hi All,

I think I'm about done with this one.  I've run some diluted oil paint into the panel lines and around the hatches and stuff, plastered on some earth pigment powder and a little dusting with some light pigment powder.

Gallery photos to follow and thanks for the kind comments.
