Smer 1/24 Alpha Romeo

Recommended Posts

This is my attempt at building an auto subject. It is the Smer Alpha, I think it is probably a reboxing of Merit kit. Simple kit no fit problems.Anyway here she is, all comments welcome.

I love these old Merit 1950s racing cars and yours is very tidy indeed!

Thank you for your kind comment, much appreciated.

Vintage racers/cars aren't really my thing, but this is a nice little model. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, I enjoyed building it even if it was very simple.

I think "simple" is under-rated. enough of life is complicated!

this model came out quite nice.

Q: what scale?

thanks

Really nice clean build - lovely paintjob!

Just one thing, being picky - it's an Alfa Romeo....:)

Indeed. Anonima Lombardi Fabbrica Automobile came under the control of Nicola Romeo  some time between 1910 and 1920 (I think) and they have been Alfa Romeo ever since.

I saw the name SMER and didn't know they did car kits.  This I think is very tidy and nicely built ! :goodjob:

Nice work. Out of interest, there is a detail set for this kit by Indycals, available from Shapeways...for those unfamiliar, Shapeways is a commercial 3D printing outfit to which you can upload designs. They print them for you, and if you want to, make them available for others to buy too.

The set for this kit includes a detailed engine.

Cheers

Thanks for that, but to be honest an update set costing over 70sterling for a kit that cost about 6euro is a bit steep. still glad you like her.

yes, and thats before you add some photo etch wire wheels and new tyres!. But when its the only game in town for that scale, its worth it for some!

Cheers
