mike romeo
As per the title, if a matt varnish has frosted, is there any way to get rid, short of stripping off all the paint amd starting again? Regards Martin
Black Knight
Enamel or Acrylic? With enamel, give it a good coating of a thinned gloss enamel varnish which will absorb the excess matting agent With acrylic, use thinned gloss, but not thinned with water, use meths or alcohol. The meths/alcohol will soften the dried matt varnish so that the new gloss can absorb the matting agent
mike romeo
Thanks! I use Purity seal satin varnish as it dries pretty matt. However, I can't find from the tin whether it's acrylic or enamel; I think enamel. Can anyone confirm? I normally use klear as a gloss coat.
