Beautiful Mustang and ample evidence that cement is overrated… ;-)

My only reservation regarding the superb finish and weathering is, as usual, the fact that a Mustang's wing was thoroughly puttied, sanded down and painted with silver dope – all to let the laminar flow airfoil do its work uninterrupted. So, the fancy NMF wing panelling work is, er, a fancy…

Superior modelling skills in evidence!

Kind regards,

Joachim

That's my comment too, but no answer.

Really beautiful P-51.

Is the canopy problem because of the thickness of the sides not allowing it to sit further down on the fuselage?

Yes, thats exact the problem. Maybe one can fix it when sanding this area a bit.

To Zigomar;

Hello Jean (Salut Jean)

About the P-51 wing would you say that the entire wing was painted the same colour (as like a dope),

and, of course all the rivets flushed down. In this case it is of course normal that you only can see ONE shade

of (bare ?) natural metal finish. But what's the matter with the fuselage and tail-planes , fin ,rudder, and so on ?

Are these also painted this uniform silver paint in, or can we imagine they are different colours shades, according to the different

alloys that were used on the Mustang ?

Thank you very much Troy Smith.

With the drawing you sent, I definitely better understand the different shades.

That's really great.
