Plumbum
After the Revell F-14D fiasco I have decided to go through my decal stash to find something a bit different. I found a new and unused set of Super Scale 1/48 Hartmann G-6 decals and have decided to try the winter white G-6 I always wanted to. I am not going all out and buying the new Tamiya, instead I am going "retro" and will use either the Arii or Hobby Craft kit. I want to keep it simple, also I did some searching years ago and found that some say this was a G-14 and not a G-6. His wing man stated that he flew an G-14AS and Hartmann flew a G-6 on his only kill flight with JG-53. Anyways I'm off to find a kit.---John

Plumbum
I did some research and supposedly the winter white scheme was a tall tail G-6 or G-14. The kit I have, 1/48 HobbyCraft Bf-109G-6, has the scribe line to remove the short tail but I don't have the tall tail to replace it so I am going to do his G-6, Yellow 1 with an Erla Huabe canopy in 75, 74 over 76 which he flew in Romania in 1944. It is pictured on my Eagle Cals sheet as the 2nd plane from the top. I just received the Erla Haube canopy generously donated to me from a fellow modeler.---John
