corsaircorp
Hello Dears, Here's one of the RFI, Aaaaand one more Spitfire (Should have changed my alias) A legend or not ?? I don't know but seemingly, these Aircraft is not registered as a Spitfire ! It is said that she has been built with parts from différents aircrafts, and was not armed. This I will not believe... An unarmed Spitfire, not a recce one over the channel and Normandy ??? So I let the cannon on. Eduard Spitfire kit are pretty good, I really like it Unless, the engine cowling and exhaust ... Invasion Stripes are painted with Kife Color There once again has been a chemical reaction with the Tamiya flat varnish.

corsaircorp
I will buy insignia blue paint in Telford and rectify the roundels The Aircraft has been painted with X tracrylics, decals are OOB I saw on photos that most of the invasion stripes have been crudely painted, so I did'nt have it tidy That's also my first painted stripes and that's the other side of the story, I'm not that good Beer kegs are OOB, finely moulded... A delight ! Hope it is Guiness within !!

As a canadian, he should have had a keg of canadian club !! With the milk of Normandy's cow, that would have mean "Mose milk for everyone !!!" Sincerely. CC 9 hours ago, Niknak said: Very good. Of course the beer from the Chichester brewery serving Tangmere (for JEJr) might be different. And allegedly all beer was watered down to stop drunkenness affecting the war effort - and those pilots in the photos often only have halves in their hands anyway. But only pregnant ladies drank stout (Guinness, Mackesons etc) in the olden days. Cheers Will 1

Photos confirm Romsey and Guildford breweries supplied and the Spitfiresite website credits a Chichester brewery which makes sense for Tangmere squadrons. Shepherd Neame (Kent) would be too far from the Normandy action - though no doubt plenty of their ale was quaffed by Battle of Britain pilots! cheers Will
russ c
Hi CC Real or not, that`s a real nice Spitfire and you did a great job with the realistic invasion stripes. Very nice collection of Spitfires and great choice of schemes too
rayprit
The spitfire that DID exist!!!! Official designation Modification XXX http://spitfiresite.com/2012/01/modification-xxx-beer-carrying-spitfires.html
corsaircorp
Hello Ray, If I speak about the Spitfire that never existed, it's Nothing about the beer carrying ! But the airframe herselve ! MK329 is not a Spitfire... There's surely a reason for that.. Some said that it is a field reconstruction from crashed Aircraft wich I really doubt ! May be a slightly damaged Aircraft repaired and used for non official mission ! Don't really know ! Sincerely. CC
rayprit
Hello CC, I hate to say this, but, some brits do come up with some outstanding ideas and at the time, I think this was one of them I get the impression from reading various articles on the subject that more than one aircraft became a flying pub, in fact, more than one squadron flew beer missions...........check out following article. Do not let this detract from your build, I think its brilliant. So good in fact that I spent most the afternoon chasing up facts about the "official" modification. I did know about the flying pubs in the past, but this is the first time I delved deeper into it. Heres another link showing other aircraft and squadrons flying beer................. http://zythophile.co.uk/2014/06/06/you-wont-believe-this-one-weird-trick-they-used-to-fly-beer-to-the-d-day-troops-in-normandy/
