Scratch built 1/72 Bedford OXC/D & A

Recommended Posts

With the wax carved cab finished I have now gone on the make a proper replacement for the out of scale Airfix Bedford OXC, Which I showed in my other thread is actually closer to 1/87 scale, and rebuilt it in 1/72 scale to more match the Queen Mary trailer.

What follow is a photo diary of the process to make the master for the OXC.....

This picture is of the truck I built for myself so the POW carriers and back deck are slightly different to those provided in the kit.....

The finished truck and trailer (still needs glazing and mirrors).....

So, with the OXC done I then converted the chassis into an OXD 30cwt GS as they are the same wheelbase length....

I have now moved on to making the OXA 'Armadillo' as that is also on the same length chassis, more as I progress....

Awesome job!!!

Have the recovery set in the deep stash so would be very interested in an OXC.

Are you releasing these via Wee Friends?

All the best

As promised..... A quick update on the OXA kit and model, the kit will only have 3 or 4 more separate parts to it as most of the under body stowage is actually easier to cast in with the truck back body floor......
