beekeeper
Hi, I have recently bought the old Contrail kit of the Harrow. As I was looking for an eye-catching paint scheme, I went across this picture : http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/205090513 Is there anyone who has an idea as to the underwing and lower fuselage colour ? Could it be yellow ? Thank you !
Graham Boak
Yes, I'd definitely go with Yellow, as Harrows were attached to training units (Bombing & Gunnery Schools). This photo appears to be the inspiration for the Valom scheme although they think it was white - for no good reason that I can see.

pigsty
Can't prove whether it was white or yellow, but in 1939/40 weren't Harrows being used as transports as well? That might have had some influence over the underside colour.
Graham Boak
So they were, but still not with white. The Harrow transports had camouflage with the low demarcation, at the lower corner of the fuselage. It was the trainers, Tiger Moths, Oxfords, Hart variants etc that had the mid-fuselage demarcation.
