Troy Smith
serial is not EN380, http://www.airhistory.org.uk/spitfire/p035.html quick google https://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?30165-Spitfire-With-D-B-Engine Quote Spitfire Vb serial EN830 / NX-X fell into German hands late in 1942. It crash landed on November 18th 1942 while being flown by P/O (Sous Lt.) Bernard Scheidhauer of the Free French Air Force, attached to 131 "County of Kent" Sqn. RAF. He and his No.1, P/O Henri de Bordas, had been on a "rhubarb" to Normandy during the afternoon. EN830 was hit by light flak and made a forced landing in a turnip field at Dielament Manor, Trinity, Jersey. http://www.airhistory.org.uk/spitfire/p037.html Quote EN830 Vb CBAF M45 FF 30-4-42 37MU 1-5-42 131S 8-6-42 FAAC 25-8-42 force-landed in Jersey after flak hit nr nr Ouistreham 18-11-42 P/O B W M Sheidhauer PoW - shot by Gestapo after 'Great Escape'. Aircraft to Daimler Benz Aktiengellschaft DB605A inverted eng install to test cool system. armament removed for comparison trials with Bf109G DB601A install for further trials and http://www.network54.com/Forum/149674/thread/1262048791/Anyone+would+have+good+pic+of+the+DB605+engine+SPITFIRE+... seems there are no photos before, but this model looks believable standard post may 1942 Day Fighter Scheme see here for more on the details of what a late 1942 Spitfire would have looked like http://www.boxartden.com/gallery/index.php/Profiles/Camoflage-Markings/01-Supermarine-Spitfire PS on wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No._131_Squadron_RAF I would presume NX-X would have looked very much like NX-E or NX-K in the pic above

Paul J
The roundel proportions on NX-K look funny, The red seems a bit different and smaller looking. And NX-B still has the A1 roundel.

And NX-B still has the A1 roundel. that would date the photo to the change between A to C roundels, NX-K will be awaiting some red paint. like this famous shot of 88 Sq Bostons first plane has had the blue extended, but awaits red (Note codes are still grey) plane behind has had red done. Well spotted though, I was posting this on a little tablet, and that detail escaped me.
