HäT 8002 Napoleonic Prussian Dragoons 1815

5^th Dragoner (Brandenburgisches, ‘Prinz Wilhelm von Preussen’)

Historically dragoons were mounted infantry, but by the Napoleonic wars they had become purely cavalry. They came midway between the heavy and light category, but a large part of the cavalry was made up of them, mainly because they were the cheapest. Still they did not enjoy the same reputation and status as the cuirassiers or the hussars.

Thanks Vince, I have two more Battalions on the go - another Militia (8th) and one of Line Infantry.

These are basically the HäT 8025 Waterloo Dutch Infantry with two rogue figure to form the 2nd Battalion (1e Bataljon) Dutch Line Infantry

Mostly HäT 8096 (for the centre companies) and 8025 (for the flank companies) to form the 8th National Militia Battalion (Bataljon Nationale Militie No. 8)

These are the Belgian element of the HaT 8096 set, as 3rd & 7th Line Battalions

These are the flank companies of the 3rd & 7th Line Battalions. These were Belgian units and I used the HaT 8025 bodies with Airfix 01745 heads

A little re-paint on a set first done in 2006, and mounted, for them to represent the Prussian I Corps Artillery

Great job Ratch,i think that's the first time i've ever seen blue wheels and carriage on cannons...Was there any special reason they painted them like that....

Thanks Vince, I had originally painted them grey, but a googleimage search throws them up in blue - National colour maybe, like the Brits had grey and the French had green

The Prussians used blue on their woodwork.

Here are the HäT 8003 Napoleonic British Rocket Troops. I painted these originally in 2005. There are four sets of these figures in each box. I have touched them up and mounted them.

These are HäT 8003 Napoleonic British Rocket Troops, supplemented with two figures from Esci 233 Napoleonic British Artillery and some Trotter knapsacks from Revell's 02577 Napoleonic British Foot Artillery.

With these I used the Airfix RHA mounted officer as well as additional foot figures by Esci and HäT.

On similar lines with figures and pieces taken from various sources; mainly HäT, but also Airfix, Esci and Revell

 

 

Wellington attached a gun battery to the Rocket Troop

 

 

 

The wagon issued in the HäT 8003 set was drawn by a team of four and a limber, this one taken from Revell's 02577 set

A simple conversion, taking HäT Rocket Troops (8003), supplemented by an Esci (233) and an Airfix (01746) artillery figure and utilising some of the heads I'd previously cut from HäT (8025) Waterloo Dutch Infantry to make them into Heinemann's Brunswick Horse Artillery
