Super Etendard - Italeri 1:72 (1986 kit)

Recommended Posts

This is an old kit, produced in 1986!!

I will finish this in French Navy markings. Argentinian markings are too common.

Cockpit is bare and empty! decided to do without photo-etch. I didn't even find replacements for this kit!. Quick scratch build for the TV screen.

Followed images to paint the dials. This will be a CLOSED canopy.

Quite a bit of filler was needed.

Pictures i will use for reference while painting. As you can see its GRAY, NOT BLUE-GRAY.

After the bottom was painted white. i masked up ready for the gray. Quite a tricky scheme. perfectly straight lines!

White parts covered.

Post painting and post shading. For the gray i used Gunship gray.

  • AdriaN (MLT) changed the title to (images not working) Super Etendard - Italeri 1:72 (1986)

There are other photo services out there i use Imgur. Some use villiagephotos. I think thats correct ? There are a couple more. Don't hide the thread just see about updating with another photo service , and repost the photos that way ? There are a few threads in the FAQ & help and support sections.

I'll take everyones word on this i cant use these plug-ins. I only have a cellular for internet/computer use. I cant download these correcting programs. So going on what i've read i say 👍Up it sounds like your Super Entendard is a decent looking job so far.

Looks pretty spot on to me - a bit of weathering, presto.

Nice work so far!

Cheers,

After painting the model was painted with Klear, given a light sanding, painted with Klear again then decals were put on.

Wash was done with artists water colors mixed with water and some dish liquid.

The 'gunship grey' colour you have used is actually not too bad.

How do you clean up your weathering wash. Just water and a cotton bud?

Nice work.

After applying the decals.. the gunship gray fit in & looked great!
The wash is watercolor, so i did not use water. With the introduction of water it will all come off! I used tissue and in some areas a cotton bud.

One VOR aerial got chipped after pieces of broken glass from a smashed window pane fell onto the model. Also scratching it!

I cut out a replica of the aerial out of plasticard. this was done by tracing the OTHER unchipped aerial, then tracing the missing part from the chipped aerial.

Glued on!
