regarding the seat cushions, looking at pics of the real chopper, they look sometimes greyish, brownish or greenish, my dad decided to use RLM74 grey-green

size comparison with the Hind

I love the size comparison...nice add to the build!   It really gives you a sense of how big the Apache is and how much smaller the Hind is in real life!  Too me, Hinds always looked big and bulky until I saw one in real life.

operation done, patient still lives

slowly beginning to look like a chopper, cockpit tub fit to fuselage was good

typical for these old Italeri kits, you have a lot of flash and "hidden" seams on the parts you have to remove

Nice to see another Apache build.  Early model with the smaller side ‘panniers’ - don’t know if that is what they are called.  Must do a Wattisham version one day as they fly over my house daily

Yes, wanted to build a helicopter kit with working rotors for some time, the Apache just happened to be the victim!  I suspect yours will be a better built model though

something different is always good

well, we´ll see how my dad gets along with the Italeri kit, has it´s issues..in case of emergency there´s still an Academy AH-64A in our stash

Looks like a lot of work you have with this kit. I have the Hasegawa kit, it scares me...

Colin

Well this kit is from the early 90ies and a reboxing of the older Testors kit, the detail is nice but the quality...my dad will fight through :D

As far as I´ve seen during research, the Hasegawa kit is the best option, sadly the A model isn´t available at the moment.

Both!

usually Gunze and Tamiya acrylics but in this case gonna use Model Master enamel Helo Drab

Iwata, Rich/Harder-Steenbeck, Sparmax with 0.2 and 0.3/0.35 nozzles and no-name airbrushes with bigger nozzles for coarser work
