Today I took a full collection of images at RAF Museum Cosford of XD145 for anyone that wants to use them for their models. I've hosted the photos on my google images as a shared folder so you should be able to see them. https://photos.app.goo.gl/50DnVm1lGpE0nuCO2 Photos are taken starting at the front, going around the port side, around the rear to the starboard side then returning in reverse taking pictures of underside / wheel details. If anyone would like me to get any others send me a request and I will do my best. I haven't added any cockpit pictures as I can't really do any better than the museums 360 photo on facebook linked above. Enjoy! Stuart Nice shots. If you would like to send a link to Julien, who does our Walkaround section, he can incorporate them in our library. Cheers Frank

The SR.53 is relatively unknown on this side of the pond except to hard-core enthusiasts. I've been intrigued with it since building the original release, bagged Airfix kit many years ago, one of the first Airfix kits I ever built. I knew nothing about the airplane at the time, but bought the kit (mail-ordered from Arthur Mullett Ltd. along with some then exotic Humbrol enamels) simply because it looked so cool! Rabbit Leader
Really appreciate this walk around series of photos Pollitt. There’s some excellent detail shots there and for those that aren’t exactly close (like me) these images are very handy to have. Welcome to BM and many thanks. Cheers. k5054nz
Dredging up a dormant thread, who has any ideas as to an in-service name for the SR.53 (or SR.177), if it ever went that far? I see AZ Models chose "Rocketeer" but that to me doesn't sit well with contemporary RAF types. Pure conjecture, I know, but a bit of fun and food for thought for "What If?" modellers and story writers such as myself. k5054nz
For my little nonsense story I've named the SR.53 the Squall. Black Sword sounds pretty neat, though...
tempestfan
I guess she would look a treat in a Black Arrows style scheme, with white rounded outlines and perhaps a white arrow flash down the fuselage.
