Red Arrows red paint

Hello All,

My son Leo has kindly been sent a 1/72 RAFAT Hawk by a member of the Britmodeller community. He's very excited and wants to get stuck in to it as his next build. However, he wants to get the red just right! I'm guessing it should be a satin red, but maybe gloss? Either way, any opinions from you all would be very welcome. He wants to hand brush rather than air brush and for mixing purposes we normally use Vallejo but are open to any brand really. What rdd would you recomend? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Humbrol 238, Xtracrylix is too orange, think humbrol actually got access to the Reds paintshop when they created 238 a few years ago

Just keep in mind that brush painting glossy red can be a right pain in the bottom.:D

If you do go down the airbrush route I'd recommend the MRP Signal Red. If not Humbrol do a "Red Arrows" red which should be all right, stay well clear of the xtracrylix red as you'll have an orange arrow instead.
