FredG
The set is now ready to have the regimental colours applied. I'm going for the two regiments, Prinz Anton and Prinz Maximillian.
FredG
These are the two regiments with colours on the tunics and pompoms. Still no buttons yet so the ID is incomplete. They're far to clean and white so they first need a sepia wash to take the blue whiteness away. See if you can spot the ones that have been done. Not too difficult is it Now the task is to clean them up a little with a diluted light grey in parts. Edited November 30, 2017 by FredG
FredG
Both groups are almost ready. I've brought the uniform back to a worn old white and added buttons. Having thought I was finished I then noticed that I'd forgotten to add the straps on the backpacks. So it's paint the straps and paint the bases, then get them based. Then comes the most difficult bit, deciding what to paint next

FredG
I've sorted out the painting and am just waiting for the paint to dry on the mdf bases and I can get them glued on.
FredG
During the French Line Lancer interlude I've taken advantage of the time and started this merry band ( see what I did there?) They should come in handy when we start wassailing Edited December 9, 2017 by FredG
FredG
Progress on the massed Fifes and Drums and the NCOs. They're a little more colourful, I'll finish up with members from 8 Regiments. All pompoms are present and correct
Ratch
My word, they are colourful
FredG
They'll tone down a bit once the washes come out
FredG
Another lot of Saxons are on the table. This will be the last of them as the three figures at the right of the second photo are officers and NCOs and I think the rest are surplus. There is one that looks remarkably like Lee Marvin though
FredG
Almost finished the Saxons. These have just the bases to paint and mounting. Spot the Lee Marvin look-alike
FredG
Ah! The best laid plans ..... I had the idea of setting up the Saxon Infantry figures and taking photos of them in formation. I was looking at them in the cabinet and something was missing, flags . Two boxes of 96 figures each and not a single flag bearer The simplest remedy is to exchange the halberds of the NCOs for flag standards. That's far too easy! I have 21 officers and NCOs left over so I've been converting eight of those. I have the regimental flags so I'll print off the eight I have figures for and that will add a little more life into the Army. It also adds a little time to completion too, hey ho! FredG
The volunteers to carry the standards for 8 regiments. Still in very white, clean uniforms ( for now). The Regiments are recognised by the colour of the facings and the colour of the buttons. The green and yellow figures represent 4 regiments.
