John_W
You did what I did and followed the kit instructions for the nosewheel doors... They don't hinge at the top, they come.out and slide back. I swore when I found out. Edited November 19, 2017 by John_W 5
Brandy
I was about to say the same re the nose gear doors, they should lay on the hull, not open downwards..... Ian

Phil Lewis
Just caught up with this thread. Another cracking build there Johnny. Love how you take those little hiccups, punch them in the eye and while they're staggering around blinking smack them over the head with an ingenious solution

corsaircorp
Hello Johnny, What a clever guy !! very good idea ! And once you got the door at their right place, it will invisible ! The Spadgent
Thanks guys for all the kind words. hey @corsaircorp for some reason I hadn’t pressed the “follow” button on your lovey build. I have now, I’ll enjoy catching up on that one. Why oh why do I get near the end of a build and struggle to get her over the finish line. I have been the super busy but that’s really no excuse is it. I have managed a squirt of progress in between life stuff. the doors got fixed. The lead will now be invisibobbles. I sprayed all the bits black. i was going to rust up the bombs and then chip em but I figured that they would have been used pretty quick before any chipping so a tad of white weathering should do the trick. Oops! I seem to have got my propers in a twist. I really should have done the custard first. never mind these bits are taking forevah anyway what’s a bit more time twist friends. after silly making time we has this. then monsieur Custard. aah everything is getting better now. Away with ze masking and some light weather and we arrive here. Not bad. Also I have started watching an old Airfix FW 190 1/24 on the bay of E, Lord help me! Many way back to this thing here. The struts got some chipping and everything else got a salt wash with Tamiya white dusty dust mc dust. then a Matt coat ready for gluing. the struts seem to be more fiddly than I first thought so it’s one strut at a time or they ping off in all directions. but it’s ok because you know “ s l o w n e s s “ just before I finish up for today a dry fit of the spiny bits. That’ll do. right now let’s see how much gets done and how fast. stay tuned kids. It was always going to be a slow run up to Chrimble time. Thanks for looking in. All the best and Happy Hoppy Modelling. Johnny Time Loop.

TheBaron
Since I last saw this you've put on weight and taken the propellors into custardy. Very smartly I might add. You always seem to have such lovely light from yonder window falling on your bench too. Impeccable Catalinering there von Chipenstein! 1

John Masters
Mightily robust craft you have there... I have enjoyed this build thread a lot and learned a great deal from it. As a result, I have four bottles of Flory-wash in the post enroute to my sunny little Aegean isle... Looking forward to the Focke-Wulf.

perdu
Johnny, I found the bombs were just green from stock on the bombing raids but they look proper menacing in black (might cheer you up to know the Airfix Cat struts weren't over happy with getting placed under the wings either) Great paintwork, top job

John_W
Turning out realy well. Considering the decent fit of the rest of the kit, the struts were a bit of a disappointment.
