Admiral Puff
On p.67 of the Airliner Tech series on the Viscount is a picture of CF-DTA, the Canadian DoT's Viscount V.745D/V.797D, which I am in the process of drawing up. The fuselage cheatline is in the form of a stylised wing streaming back from a roundel, in the centre of which is a crest. I presume that it is the DoT's badge, but the picture is too small to be sure. Can anyone confirm this, please, and point me in the direction of the crest's details? Scott Garard
Admiral, I found some large pic's of sister ships which show it a little better: https://abpic.co.uk/pictures/full_size_0294/1441765-large.jpg https://abpic.co.uk/pictures/full_size_0295/1443559-large.jpg Scott.
Admiral Puff
Thanks, Scott - they're very useful. The badge does look like the old DoT crest. I've also got an inquiry in to Transport Canada, in the hope that they may be able to come up with a nice clear image of it. I'll post here if they come up with the goods. Admiral Puff
Well, I've heard nothing from the Lumberjacks - bumping this to see if there's anything more out there.
Max Headroom
I found this https://farm5.static.flickr.com/4047/4326009078_4d4d0f82b9_b.jpg And here it is in a different (later?) scheme, but I’ve never seen an underneath shot with slipper tanks fitted before. http://www.airic.ca/assets/images/viscount-cf-dta-1.jpg Trevor
Admiral Puff
Thanks, Trevor. That first shot is a beauty - much crisper than anything I've been able to find. And those slipper tanks in the second shot don't look standard ... much wider than any others I've seen.
