Spot of the Day Part 2

Recommended Posts

Back in late 1970s I knew several RUC officers. Due to terrorist activity they were advised to changes their car at least every 5 or 6 months. Change to a non-descript car was advised. Top 5 cars on their list were all versions of the Allegro

This was coming down church street in Great Malvern. It's a very steep hill, as you can see!

He must be very brave!

I think that's his foot coming through the floor to help him stop!

I see one of them in the car park at work quite regularly.

Brick behind the wheels to stop it running away?

My Pa used to work on these things, and when I showed him the picture I couldn't stop him ranting on about how bad they were!

I've not seen much about worth reporting recently.

Went off to west Yorkshire today, Saw a Honda S2000

on the way there and an S reg Celica in Lincoln later.

Oh, and a bonkers American pickup with HUGE exhaust

stacks on the A15 this evening.

Some very interesting, well to me, spots this week so far:

  • Jensen CV8
  • Not 1, but 3 Lamborghini Aventadors on the M25
  • A car transporter full of original Fiat 500s, 600s and 750s in coupe, saloon & multiple variants, all mint.
  • Scimitar Mk2

And it's only Wednesday!

Spotted a 1957 Chevy in Northampton today- Only a very quick glance, but I think it was a 210 model rather than a proper glamorous 'Bel Air'. The main external difference is the wedge shaped panel on the rear wings is painted instead of the Bel Air's corrugated aluminium finish.  My 'spot' was a four-door sedan rather than the ultra-desirable pillar-less sedan. No matter, it was still "Sweet, Smooth and Sassy" to quote Chevy's 1957 slogan....

A very eclectic selection on the way home tonight:

  • Rover P6
  • Sunbeam-Talbot 90
  • Mk2 Jaguar
  • Triumph GT6
  • Rover SD1 Estate

The SD1 wasn't a genuine Rover prototype, but a home conversion using the rear end of a Volvo 240 estate.
