injidup
Indeed! Some pics from the latest Speed event, a hill climb. Nice selection of cars from a very tuned mini to a nearly new Subaru STi, big V8 Commodore, Mazda RX7, Westfields, a BMW 2002 with a Toyota engine, several MR2s (one turbo, one supercharged), and several Ford Escorts Mk1 and Mk2. Plus my little Lotus. Edit: Sorry, tried using OneDrive for photos but it won't give me the correct url. Will find an alternative. Thanks to Photobucket for screwing up the internet. Pete in Lincs
I was up in North East Yorkshire today and saw the following.... In Malton at Malton Coachworks, A Studebaker Commander, a fabulous looking low slung coupe in lemon with a black roof. https://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fcdn.barrett-jackson.com%2Fstaging%2Fcarlist%2Fitems%2FFullsize%2FCars%2F198589%2F198589_Front_3-4_Web.jpg&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.barrett-jackson.com%2FArchive%2FEvent%2FItem%2F1955-STUDEBAKER-COMMANDER--198589&docid=HIna9uDLK6UMEM&tbnid=kgECIdrhx4OMQM%3A&vet=10ahUKEwjBo9z3nK3XAhXC_KQKHdGqCmMQMwiiAShKMEo..i&w=1000&h=667&bih=637&biw=1366&q=studebaker commander&ved=0ahUKEwjBo9z3nK3XAhXC_KQKHdGqCmMQMwiiAShKMEo&iact=mrc&uact=8 In the same yard were an E type FHC, An Anglia and I think, a Triumph Roadster. In Pickering I saw an Austin Champ 'jeep' in dark military green. Along the A170 is Thornton le Clay where there is a motor museum/salesroom. I only had time for a glimpse as I drove past but it looks well worth a visit.

Pete in Lincs
Spotted a Ferrari in the early morning traffic near Newark yesterday. A fairly modern one, a 4something perhaps? Today I saw a lovely Rover 2000, probably a V8 on a J reg plate, in dark red with a vinyl roof just outside Scarborough, around midday. An hour or so later a Jaguar XK120 or 140 FHC just South of the Humber bridge.

I drive a supermini (super....hah! that’s a misnomer - to our North American brethren I suppose it’s a sub compact?) and I towered over it. What’s more I was more than keeping up with it with my 1.0 litre normally aspirated engine. Trevor (then again we were in a traffic jam, so all those Italian ponies under his lid were no better than the French donkies under mine!)

Trevor That was the first real Ferrari I ever worked on. I was so excited. Went to pick it up and found out the car had a Roadmaster stereo installed. It was like going to a 5 star restaurant and being served cheese whiz on toast. Outside of that it was a fantastically great car.

Closely followed by a pale blue Porsche 356! Then on the A34 a bright yellow Scimitar GTE, and a short while later on the M4 a pale yellow/beige Triumph 2000 (or 2.5) with dayglo stripes, police badges on the door & blue roof light!! (As the past owner of an SD1 V8 VdP these things matter to me.) Talking of which, on my way home from Telford I was passed by an immaculate SD1 2600S that must have been 32 years old. By the look of the driver he'd owned it from new. Not quite a V8 but still, lucky man.
