On Sunday, a Smart car covered in artificial grass.

I frequently see one round here too.      It has a comedy face as well.  But yesterday I saw a PT Cruiser in black and white artificial grass as a cow complete with tail!

Yesterday afternoon on the A17 heading West,

A red Cox GTM minus the engine cover.

It used a roundabout for a U turn & went East.

Today in Sheffield, on an H reg plate, a VW Transporter

in full green & white German Polizei colours! (No roof lights)

This evening a mid fifties Oldsmobile (I think) on the A15 going South.

500 mile round trip today taking number one son back to university in Falmouth, so plenty of spots along the way:

  • MG SV prototype on the M5
  • Subaru SVX
  • Triumph Stag
  • Jaguar Mk2
  • McLaren MP4
  • Loads of bay window VW Type 2s in Cornwall
  • Cab forward Land Rover in Truro
  • Austin 7 van on a trailer.
  • Ausrin 7 convertible coupe, also on a trailer.

Tomorrow it's time to take son number two to university in Lancashire.

Following Saturday's trip to Cornwall with number one son, Sunday saw a trip to Lancashire with number two son.

Cheshire appeared to be full of Ferraris and naff SUVs, including one of the new Bentley Bentayga 4x4s.

There were however some decent spots including:

  • a very nice Mk1 escort in bright orange
  • an equally nice Triumph TR4
  • an immaculate Aston Martin DB 5
  • a racing Aston Martin DB 2 on a trailer
  • a 50s Chevy pickup

Yesterday I was driving back to the office from a meeting when I saw a youngish guy on a bike riding the other way.  I don't know whether he realised it wasn't just any old "sit-up and beg" as it was a "BSA Airborne Bicycle, 2nd Pattern" aka Parabike!

I saw a Rallye 205 in Padstow in August.  I think it was the twin Weber  1300cc homologation version rather than the later cooking Rallye 205.

And a nice 1.9gti outside a pub the other week.

You’re right that the bog standard 205s aren’t much in evidence though...
