Uniq by the fact that this fighter was coming from a seaplane, the Shiden was the last fighter of the IJN who saw combat. if the two first versions were a bit ill-fated, the last the Shiden -Kai, was quite a match for the F4U and F6F. Here is a portrait of the three main variant, first the N1K1

The Tamiya Shiden is less good than the Hasegawa model. One of the few that Tamiya has missed!

Fantastic models. What scale?

 

Any chance of seeing the floatplane forerunners– a Rex prequel?

Some beautiful examples of the modellers' art.  They all look terrific but especially the outdoor pictures.  The weathering and exhaust staining are exceptionally good.
