Plumbum
I started this early this year and put it aside to finish up the Amagiri and a few F-4 Phantoms. They are pretty much done so I pulled it out to see where I was at. I've heard that Revell has a new tool PT-109 due out this fall, I think. Anyways I am going to finish this one up, I am going to accurize it as best I can. I will put the cannon on the fore deck and add depth charges. I believe Hasegawa does a cannon with a Jeep in 1/72 scale so I can use that, not sure if it's the exact caliber but it looks close enough. I just went to a few sites and found the dimensions for type 6 depth charges- 17 5/8 inches diameter by 27 5/8 inches long, so in scale I need 1/4 inch diameter rod by 3/8 inch long. So far I have the hull and main deck along with the screw shafts and rudders on and painted.---John PT109 4 by jvandeu53, on Flickr OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA by jvandeu53, on Flickr PT109 6 by jvandeu53, on Flickr PT109 12 by jvandeu53, on Flickr

Plumbum
I scratch built 2 racks for the depth charges out of card stock. I also found some 1/4 inch diameter sprue to use to fabricate the depth charges.---John PT109 15 by jvandeu53, on Flickr
Plumbum
This picture shows basicly what I am going to do. I believe it's the Italeri box art photo. The only difference is I am not going to use the mast and I have the Carley float on the day room roof.---John Italeri PT109 by jvandeu53, on Flickr
Timmas
Ah PT109, JFK's wartime torpedo boat. The story behind it is incredible. Are you thinking of putting it into a diorama?
