I continue to be amazed at the fabulous things that Dora Wings is producing - may you live long and prosper. I hope I'll end up with a Spanish civil war version at some point.

I would like to build the D.500 version: AMG boxing #48401. Looking at the box art, it shows a spinner. I'm not sure, but it seems the sprues don't include one. 🤔

Not much reference online. Should there be a spinner for the 2 bladed prop?

Thanks

I'm no expert and others here may know more, but personally I'd be inclined to treat the AMG box-top illustrations with caution.

As far as I'm aware the D.500/501 had a two-bladed propeller and the D.510 (which had a different engine) had a three-bladed one. I only have the AMG D.510, which I can confirm has a three-bladed propeller and spinner. Someone who has the D.500/501 might be able to confirm what's in those boxes.

Only other help I can offer is to tell you that I built both the 1/72 Heller D.500 and D.510 (many!) years ago; the former came with a two-bladed prop, the latter with a three-bladed one. Can one assume that Heller knew its French subjects well?

As you say, there's not much available by way of reference (either on-line or in print, at least that I could find).

Just received the AMG 1/48 D.500 C1 #48401. After waiting over 3 weeks for delivery.

Gotta admit, unfortunately I'm not too impressed. Mouldings are ok at best. Some panel lines are inconsistent in terms of depth and straightness. Detail is fair. Resin is OK. The seat has pinholes. Decals and PE are nice.   Frankly, even though it's short run, I expected more from a 21st century kit.

After seeing this kit, I probably will not order their bf-109 series

I wonder( hope) if the Dora Wings kits are  better?

It was said that the D.500/501/510 series was the last made from hand made masters.

While all the things you wrote are true, the kit is still much, much beter than JMGT or similar (shudders) options.

Dora Wings kits are the same plastic.

Me 109B is a much better effort. Panel lines are a bit Airfix-ish.

Cheers,

Vedran
