I've found a cocktail stick with a rough end and I use that to gently remove the filler down the gap. YMMV! There have been problems all over in this build Ced, mostly created by me probably but thats the fun of this hobby. Right, Pilot Bill was fixed into place again, (he came loose during surgery) Then the canopy (pre painted) was fitted and clamped. The gaps were fill with Revell Contacta Clear. Going to leave this to dry then clean up the surrounds. The tail feathers fitted quite nicely (for a change) and just need a few swipes of the emery sticks. Pics later. All comments welcome. Spookytooth
OK folks, time for Tiffie. Main U/C doors done for now. That now awaits a coat of primer but things must proceed quicker. All together now. The bits. Add some glue and pegs (4 of them) And from this view. Going to leave over night and then clean up later tomorrow. All comments welcome. She is not that bad but it can get a bit demanding at times, but I love her. As for the Tiffie, I hope to have her ready for priming soon, along with the Spitfire and some Sunderland bits as well. Just waiting for a decent weather window (and wife one too ) Simon.

Spookytooth
Right, a little time on my hands... Pegs off and fill joins. This was the second attempt at filling, the first was poor. So I sanded down the filler and was left this. Also added wing tip pods, and the nose cone too. Forgot about the nose cone pic. Let them dry then fill any gaps. All comments welcome. Spookytooth
I have must of got bonus time... Checked the pod fit and nose cone fit both look OK so onwards. Tail fin fitted, this has already had its inners painted black. Although a gap her but we will see what primer does.. Canopy next, C/A`d in place. Will fill the gap with Revell Contacta Clear later. So apart from a quick polish here and there + fit the nose wheel door she is ready for first priming. All comments welcome. Simon.

giemme
They both look well tidy under a primer coat, Simon - no seams and all The Tiffie gear doors look like they need a tad more filling though, like a quick PPP pass judging by what I see Ciao Edited February 20, 2018 by giemme
CedB
Nice and smooth Simon, good job I see what Giorgio means about the doors - they're haunting you I'll bet...

Right, after laying down some primer I had a look to see what needed looking at again. The Tiffie. The tail fin joint. A bit of TLC there. The nose join top. Sorry for the blurred pic. The underside of it. Yep, again a bit of TLC. Those doors!!!! Scream!!!!! Port side join. Yep, more work!!! Back end. And again. The other side was the same. So, those doors. They got the wipe and swipe attack with Vallejo Acrylic filler. We will see. The nose join got the same. The Spitfire.. A gentle rub down with a buffing block. Just about ready for base coats I think. Well, not much else to do for now. Family coming over at the weekend so all must be packed away by Friday night. All comments welcome. bbudde
Hello Simon, just came across this. Very nice work on both so far. For the Tiffie my favourite scheme would be an "arctic viper scheme" with some nice "what if" Greenland independece markings (danish ones with a polar bear inside the roundels ) Ok that's a bit of Hello Kitty, I know. But some sort of artifical freedom. Cheers
Spookytooth
Artnoon folks, time for a little update, which is not much. With the family been and gone, and the spate of bad weather recently, plus life , not a lot has been done. But lunch time today I was able to lay down some Sky on the undersides of the Spitfire. As you can see, a slip up with the locating holes for the oil cooler, bugger. No worries though, a quick blob and wipe will cure that problem. Looks quite light but in reality it`s greenish bluish, you know. Like this. Have painted the inner part of the rad Matt Black and leaving to dry for now. Hope to update more tomorrow. All comments welcome. Simon.

Ciao Thank you Giemme, I use mainly Tamiya, thinned with IPA 50/50 ish. The Spitfire was given 2 coats of Alcad 2 Primer/Filler, rubbed back between coats. I still have to lay down a second coat after fitting the oil cooler, so the first coat was light. catch up soon. Simon.
giemme
Thanks Simon. I use Tamiya too for Sky, looks spot on to me Ciao
Spookytooth
Hi peeps, quick update while time is still on my side. Oil cooler fitted and filled. A drop of Vallejo Acrylic filler, some water and a brush. A light swipe with a sanding stick tomorrow morning and ready for second coat of Sky. All comments welcome Simon.
Spookytooth
Well tomorrow did not happen but it did today.. After a quick swipe she was ready for second coat. Forgot pic. Anyhow, here she is with the second coat, taken on the window sill for a more natural light. Not bad, a spot here and there. Not much else, as it`s Mother`s Day. All comments welcome. Spookytooth
Well, it dries quick in the front room so was able to mask up after a quick rub over with some 4000 M/S. Should have time tomorrow to lay day some Dark Earth. All comments welcome. Simon.
giemme
Smooth job, Simon - both painting and masking Ciao
Spookytooth
Thanks Giemme, I try to keep it smooth. Well a quick update. Dark Earth laid down with no problem. Also a new mod, a large mask for the spray booth. Three carpet tiles gaffered together. This brings peace and comfort to life, also saves the front room carpet too. All comments welcome.
