The Scarlet Spider - Classic Spidey Conversion

Recommended Posts

And he's done! This started out as a poor recast of the old Horizon kit which I have modified to be The Scarlet Spider as a present for my best friend, there are a few bits I can look at and grumble about but overall I'm very pleased with how he came out.

It can be a pain but I really like working with vinyl kits and this build has been enjoyable, click here for the wip topic

That came out really well, you seem to have this kit's foibles licked.

I know it's not really the hard work bit, but I think the base is inspired. It suits the pose so well, very dynamic.

Thanks Will, yeah this kits feels pretty damn familiar now, have to say once I've finished the Horizon one i think thats it for this kit!

And yeah i was happy the base too, so simple but suits it really well, think I'll do a triangular one for the next one too.

wow - a truly amazing final finish and a real credit to the old Horizon model - what a visual journey this build was - loved every stage of it - great final subject

what's next then ... perhaps one of the old Horizon Jurassic Park dinos ????

Thanks dude! Actually I've got one more Horizon Spidey (the proper kit not a repop this time) to do for a comission next, and then i think im taking a little break from vinyl for now.

(Though I've always been tempted to do a dino kit and really let loose with the airbrush!)
