Devilfish
By the early 1980's the RAF were looking at replacing it's Eagles (TSR2) aircraft in certain roles. Having such a large aircraft for close in support was a waste of resources, so a requirement was drafted for a battlefield support aircraft. BAe submitted a tender for a license built F.20, using British avionics. As it happened, the F.20 contract was cancelled in the US, so BAe took the project over with consultation from Northrop. Entering service in the late 80's as the Tigershark GR.1, it served in RAFG with several squadrons, including 20 sqn, as seen here. Paul J
Nice work . Back story sounds very feasible. I like the two seater as well. How was that achieved? I did a whiff for my 1/72nd Hasegawa kit and finished it in RCAF colours. Similar to Hornet shades and serial follow on from the CF-5A/B.
Devilfish
The 2 seater is also a Freedom models kit. They do the F-20A (ie, prototype), the F-20B 2 seater (aggressor) and an F-20C strike aircraft (which I wish I'd known about before I bought this)
Cookenbacher
Wow, the F-20 was meant for wrap-around, that looks great.
coneheadff
Wow!!!! Both aircraft look great and I love the idea. Thought about buying the F-20, but didn't know what kind if Whiff to build.
DAG058
I like that a lot! It is also not a whif I haven't seen anywhere else so bonus points for uniqueness!
Max Headroom
That is so cool. I also like the two seater. They both look disturbingly plausible. Many moons ago I built the F-20A in 75th anniversary 188 Squadron colours. Thinx......F-20B as a Red Arrows bird Trevor
Vultures1
The F-20 looks great in the grey-green wraparound - nice one! Two-seater looks good too
