Hi guys.  Looking for some help with getting hold of hollow metal tubing with threaded ends to mount si-fi models, e.g. Star Trek. Need to pass wiring through for lighting. Any suggestions?

Could you use unthreaded brass or steel tube from someone like Albion Hobbies

and get yourself a set of Taps and Dies - something like a set of these:-

This is a BA set but you can get the same in metric.  

 

You can then cut a thread on the top of the tube and then either buy nuts or drill and thread a material to secure it.  You can then then run a fine wire up the centre of the tube and use the tube itself as the other conductor.

 

And have a look at Stix build and display - exceptional...
