plop Posted August 5, 2017 Share Posted August 5, 2017 Hi guys. Looking for some help with getting hold of hollow metal tubing with threaded ends to mount si-fi models, e.g. Star Trek. Grey Beema Posted August 5, 2017 Share Posted August 5, 2017 (edited) Could you use unthreaded brass or steel tube from someone like Albion Hobbies http://www.albionhobbies.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/AA-Precision-Metals-2014-4pp.pdf and get yourself a set of Taps and Dies - something like a set of these:- http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/threading-tap-die-sets/0427929/ This is a BA set but you can get the same in metric. You can then cut a thread on the top of the tube and then either buy nuts or drill and thread a material to secure it. You can then then run a fine wire up the centre of the tube and use the tube itself as the other conductor. And have a look at Stix build and display - exceptional...
