Excellent build Roman - and a great finish.

How big is it ? - here is mine next to a Lancaster.....

... and the Zvezda (rear) and Amodel Pe-8s together....

Nice to see some Soviet heavy bombers being built.

Whoa in close up it looks even better.

I don't know Mikemx, for some reason the Pe 8 just looks much larger than a Fort.

You can compare the dimensions if you want. A B-17 is roughly 74ft by 103ft off the top of my head and the Pe-8 is 76ft by 129ft, so like I said, it's really the wingspan that's much bigger. Put it next to a B-29 or Ju290 and it won't look as big.

thanks

Mike

I never knew the soviets had lancasters.

A few were left behind during 'Operation Paravan' (attack on Tirpitz) - the best two were recovered and operated by the Soviets.

My model build - and more on the story - is here :- http://vvs.hobbyvista.com/Modeling/Avro/Lancaster/Airfix/FullBuild/Duffy/index.php

Sorry to hijack your thread Roman....

Mind if I ask which of the two kits you feel would be the better punt?

That's awesome; one of my favourite planes, especially love the rear engine nacelle gun positions. Being a 1/48 man I wish it could be kitted in 1/48, even if it would take up a whole room.

Impressive! Stunning! Wow! Might be the best looking Pe-8 I've ever seen. I absolutely love this aircraft. Was the camo airbrushed free hand?

Hello and thank you for your interest!

The camo demarcation lines were laid out with Uhu-Tac (aka Blu-Tac) sausages, starting with the lightest color.

This allows better control of the shape, in my opinion.

Roman, how did I ever miss this one???  I usually keep updated on all of your beautiful works of art and I`m glad that I finally caught up to this one.  Your usual and signature high standards are evident.  I hope the Zvezda Pe-8 I have turns out a fraction as nice as the one you have shared with us here. :goodjob:
