Revell 1/72 Bf.109G-10

Recommended Posts

I have asked a few questions about late 109's on Britmodeller, and had a lot of helpful advice. So I thought I would share a couple of pictures of progress so far on my Revell Bf.109G-10.

Undercarriage wheel bays and legs moved inboard, to correct the kit original slightly outboard positioning.

(Need to do something about that seam in the radiator intake)

A new spinner and prop from AZ models, thank you Jan Polc :)

I have separated all the control surfaces. Looking at pictures of 109's at rest, the flaps could be at any combination of settings.

I fixed the AZ armour plating behind the seat, but I think I may take it off and set the canopy open. The Revell canopy is not a great fit, being a little too narrow on the cockpit sides.

The overwing bulges are also AZ, as are the wheels.

Cheers.

Great job dropping the flaps and control surfaces. Another feature for parked ME were the wings slats popping out. I didn't make it to may model since I still don't have confidence on how to do it properly.

By the looks it's getting close to painting phase.

Cheers

Thanks Paulo.

I cut the flaps out with a scalpel blade. I chickened out on the slats.

Yes, not far off starting the painting. It will be my first attempt at Luftwaffe camo with my airbrush. Hope it comes out as nice as yours.

Cheers.

For painting, I suggest you to use a very thin paint and low air pressure for applying the mottling.

Practice in a cardboard before attempting on your model though.

Godspeed!
