1/350 IJN Amagiri

[Plumbum]

This was another "lost child" that got shelved. Most of my wing things are done or almost

there so I can start back up on this. It's beautifully molded and fits like a glove. I am doing full

hull and that's about where I am at. I have the hull painted and props on. I am currently building

sub assemblies to the main deck, smoke stacks, torpedo tubes, guns etc. The hull is Tamiya spray

can IJN gray-Kure Arsenal- and dull red.---John

I just finished painting and installing the decks. They were sprayed IJN gray, Kure Arsenal, and

brush painted linoleum deck brown.---John

"Locked and loaded." The torpedoes are installed in their launchers and ready for

installation on the deck.---John

I have more sub assemblies built and ready to paint, the rear main guns

and the partial bridge. I've also installed the mid ship torpedo tubes and

some sort of what looks like a crane or armament handling device.---John

The bridge is all built, painted and added to the deck.---John

[Killingholme]

Looking very sharp. Is that all plastic? You'd almost think it was embellished with etched brass.

 

An important destroyer design, and with the PT-109 connection, it will be a cool model to have!

Thanks, and yes it is all plastic. Some of the parts are micro thin and very

fragile, masts, armament loading rails, antennas etc. I am not sure yet if

I will add PE railings.---John

All the major parts are on, guns, depth charges, cable reels, masts

and torpedo launchers. The only kit parts left are the life preservers.

After that it's the rigging.---John

lovely , I just wish someone would do a Infini , Lion Roar , or Gold Medal Model super detail etch set with brass guns and Ensign Staffs -----------
