Yeovilton Air Day 2017

Afternoon all,

Here's a selection of images from a superb four and a half days at the Yeoviton Air Day attending from the Thursday through to the Monday lunchtime to catch the vast majority of the aircraft arriving, rehearsing, displaying and departing. Lots of good stuff on show, but as ever it was the Rafales that stole the show, just an incredible display B)

Thanks chaps. The Phantom sadly is very much a static exhibit, pulled out for the Air Day and other events. She lives in one of the hangars south side along with the two Shars that you see on static at the show.

Lovely pics. But the Rafale ones win it for me. Of all the modern day jets I like(and there are very few) the Rafale rates alongside the Hornet for me!

What lens are you using to get those shots??

chris

These were all shot using a Canon 100-400L IS Mk II on a 7D Mk II. The lens especially is an absolute beaut

Yes I had the mk1 version of that lens and loved it too! Need to save some pennies for the one you've got. Lovely photos

Great pics,..thanks for sharing them. I used to like going to Yeovilton for its naval charachter and to see the RN aircraft flying,....... but they don`t appear to have much left and have to rely on others to pad out their show nowadays,... which is a shame.

Cheers

Hello Dears,

Can't wait to get back there in November.

Never attended an Airshow in Yeovilton, but to me, I'm glad with the exhibits !

Thank for sharing the pics Shaun, it's great !

Must say that the 1st Sqdn did a great paint job on their -16, as usual.

Have a very nice day.

Sincerely.

Corsaircorp.

Na! Sea King's are either Red and Grey or all over Yellow!!!  :tease:

These were all over Grey, I could see 'em, 'cos the sun was shining, honest, sunshine, in Cornwall, in July!!! :elephant:
