neil5208
Next one to be built is this, the Airfix Hawker Typhoon. Will be using the kit decal as I thought the kit ones supplied with my Spitfire went on fairly well, but will be using the Brengun photo etch for cockpit and flaps, Master barrel set, Aviaeology stencil data decals, quick boost resin exhaust and Aires resin tail plains and wheels IMGA0931 by neil Connor, on Flickr Yay figured out Flickr IMGA0930 by neil Connor, on Flickr IMGA0932 by neil Connor, on Flickr IMGA0933 by neil Connor, on Flickr That's all the pictures I had taken before the photobucket situation started, needless to say its now at the start of the painting process. neil5208
A few more pictures now uploaded IMGA0942 by neil Connor, on Flickr Quick Boost resin exhausts IMGA0940 by neil Connor, on Flickr Brengun flaps, size is apparent on Tamiya 15ml paint pot IMGA0939 by neil Connor, on Flickr IMGA0938 by neil Connor, on Flickr IMGA0937 by neil Connor, on Flickr Decided to paint the leading edge yellow stripe rather than use the decal, and the flap sections need a fair bit of work to get right

Christer A
You don't se the Brengun kit that often, but from what you show it looks like a good kit. Great paintjob som far!
neil5208
The kit is the later Airfix release, 2016 I believe. The PE is the Brengun set.
Christer A
D'oh! I misread your opening paragraph! Ok, so it's the Airfix kit. Well, that's a good kit in itself, so no worries there
neil5208
Update. Upper surfaces painted, and now masked. The Brengun flaps have been positioned as the few photos I found show of a Typhoon with flaps lowered. neil5208
A bit more progress, the leading edge stripes are good on the upper edges but he lower side is less convincing, may have to correct.. neil5208
Got the decals on a few days ago after sealing the model with Future, used the kit decals for the specific one and the Aviology stencil set for the remainder. They look nice and went down well for the most part but I think I could have gone for another coat of Future. Also tried the silver pencil technique for chipping, I think I have reach a believable level of wear without going over the top. Bodmin
Looking mightily fine. Looking forward to the end result.
neil5208
A bit more to report, resin wheels on look much nicer than the Airfix ones. Launch rails fitted, still undecided as to fit the rockets themselves. Done an oil paint wash for the first time on this one, easier than using the Humbrol wash I had used on the previous models. So just the canopy to finish and resin exhausts to fit and weather, a flat clear coat and I should be done.
