1/144 Revell ERJ 195

Recommended Posts

I started this last year and it got back logged because of other projects.

It is a conversion, taking the Revell ERJ 195 and converting it to an ERJ 190.

I wanted to do a plane I had flown on quite a bit so I decided to do a Jet

Blue ERJ 190. I have cut 5.6 mm from the front and 11.2 mm from the rear

of the fuselage. I filled the windows 3 times and sanded, I was using Tamiya

white putty. When I picked back up the windows still felt "dimpled" so I gave

them a coat of Tamiya gray putty. That did the trick, no more depressions

in the window area. Nice to see Revell is releasing an ERJ 190 this year!

I will buy one to compare to my conversion.---John

I also had a lot of "sink" problems with the kit's molding. I sent

for replacement cowlings for the engines, I have also noticed the wheels

have sink marks as do the flap tracks, all pictured below. I sure hope ROG

has fixed these issues with their new release of the ERJ-190 this year.

I am at the point now where I can mask for painting.---John

Thanks, it's not that rapid though, I started this project in August 2016.

I masked and painted the engine pylons light gray, I did a test fit on the

wings and they seem to fit good and snug. Now to take them off, remask and

paint the blue.---John
