phildagreek
Finished. There is a WIP if you care to go look for it. Sgt. York was an early 80's mobile anti aircraft gun system to be known as DIVADS, a complicated system ahead of it's time it ran out of money before it reached service where the next generation of attack helicopters were waiting for it out of 40mm gun range. But what if someone, say the IDF, had taken the system and made it work? Enhanced it, so to speak. So a bit of a what if with extra scratch built stowage and skirts and other little bits and pieces. First up, the box art; M247 - 1 by phil da greek, on Flickr And the finished beast, probably seen in the early 90's before it was phased out, put into retirement by the likes of Stinger, photographed in natural light with my Iphone in HDR. Other mobile devices are available. M247 - 43 by phil da greek, on Flickr M247 - 44 by phil da greek, on Flickr M247 - 45 by phil da greek, on Flickr M247 - 46 by phil da greek, on Flickr M247 - 47 by phil da greek, on Flickr M247 - 48 by phil da greek, on Flickr M247 - 49 by phil da greek, on Flickr M247 - 50 by phil da greek, on Flickr This was an enjoyable build & one I'm quite satisfied with. The base kit went together very well, even though an old kit it is still a goodie. I got to scratch build, emptied the spares box & use my imagination. There is some Tamiya, Accurate Armour, Trumpeter, Meng & Italeri in use with a few other little bits. As always, she was brush painted using Humbrol enamels (168 & 145 were used to make this early Sinai grey in a 3:1 ratio) and finished with Winsor & Newton Galeria matt varnish. Thanks for looking

Bullbasket
Turned out really well. If the Israelis see this, they'll probably say, "Why didn't we think of that?" John.

Badder
Smart job that, in all respects. I'm glad to see someone else uses W&N Galeria Matt Varnish. It is a great product. And it's nice to see the commander with an old fashioned map. Aaaah those pre-Garmin-satnav days. Rearguards, Badder

Pete Robin
Beautifully built and very credible as an IDF vehicle. Methinks they may have "upgunned" it in true IDF style. Regards Pete
