Cookenbacher
I was recently thumbing through an old issue of Combat Aircraft and came across an article about Armee de l'Air F.1's conducting the Baltic Air Policing mission in 2013, and was instantly smitten. I impulsively purchased the new Special Hobby kit. Shortly after its arrival, this Group Build started. Some things are just meant to be I guess. A resin version of the giant external fuel tank and decals for 662 of 2/33 Reconnaissance Squadron are still on the way. I managed a start on the Atar's exhaust though. The rear portion is just dry fit, as I think it's possible to attach it after the fuselage is complete and painted. Thanks Wez and Enzo for putting this one together!
Wez
Cookie, Welcome to the GB, we're very pleased you could join us. I'll be following this one in particular as I'll be doing the CR. Just had a thought regarding the difficult fit of the nose on this kit, I wonder if fitting the respective nose sections to their respective fuselage halves might help I shall have to investigate...
TonyTiger66
Good to see you back Cookie . I hope your shoulder is getting better. I just ordered a Special Hobby Mirage (different version). I'm looking forward to seeing how yours goes together. Very nice camouflage on the box art! Best regards TonyT

Cookenbacher
Well, this one has come to a premature end. I made an embarrassing mistake trying to get the coaming to fit, and messed up the entire front end. The whole thing has been thrown out. I don't think I'll attempt another any time soon. Oh well, it's only plastic.

Andrew
Oh no! Can you salvage it? Surely it can't be more embarrassing than my blunders at the front end... Andrew.
TonyTiger66
Oh dear. That's a shame Cookie. Might be worth keeping the decals, maybe the wheels? Bad luck, better luck on the next model Best regards TonyT

Mountain goat
Just saw this and getting ready for more, then I read the premature end part. Oh well, indeed it's only plastic. Jay Edited July 11, 2017 by Mountain goat
