Dads203
Finally made a start on the seat belts, the seats provided in the kit are not accurate as have to high backs to them, they should be supported by webbing straps, I made the decision not to change them as it would require scratch building the seats, some thing I didn't want to do. Eduard however do supply again some not very accurate straps for the seat backs so I have just used those to add a bit more interest. The larger troop seat requires these to be finished and adding the rest of the seat belts. I've also done more work to the cockpit area which I'll post later. Dads203
Another small update, been working on painting up the interior parts today, mainly the stowage locker in the rear cabin. Its been painted with Mr hobby paints, Mig Ammo and Vallejo with some oil paints added for fading/weathering , still needs a matt varnish. I added a Eduard RBF tag poking out of the canvas cover just for interest as I would guess that is where the crew would keep these items when in flight. I could be wrong I also painted and weathered up the smoke float stowage rack but the pictures came out Apologies for the photos, its very dark in the workshop and I'm struggling to take a decent picture even with my daylight bulbs. The next item I have worked on is the stretcher, I was going to scratch build this in brass but I've realised life is far to short. In pictures I have it looks like a sleeping bag affair is in the stretcher so I have added this from Magic Sculpt and greenstuff straps, more detail to add yet but it will get hooked onto the cabin roof so not much will be seen. Dads203
Thanks Nige, the main troop seat is now finished. Some better pictures of yesterdays work As you can see I've been working in the stretcher, adding the missing grab handles to the sides, this will now get primed up Cheers again for looking Dan

perdu
What Mike says, the detail work is great Where did you get the yellow/black stripey paint? I could use some of that for ejectioning seat's handles Really is very good Edited November 8, 2017 by perdu 1
Dads203
Cheers Perdu, The yellow and black markings are a decal from Aeroscale , it’s on the 48th scale cockpit placard set, TBH it was a bit of a mare to apply, the decal was quite brittle and was very transparent. I had to bin the first attempt and paint the rail with yellow paint first , I wouldn’t want to try these on the seat firing handles as it might be a bridge too far they would be fine on a flat surface with some light paint behind them. perdu
I guessed. I tried using decals on the undercart tubes on the Wasp Ridiculously useless idea, taught me a lesson Home brew decal sheet hates to conform to skinny shapes Yours looks the biz Edited November 8, 2017 by perdu

Dads203
So time has been a bit of an issue lately and I've only managed to grab a few minutes over the last week or so, the stretcher is well underway in the paint dept Not the easiest thing to paint tbh. I've also added some stencil markings to the life raft, I used a dry rub down set from Verlinden made for US Army vehicles, I just cut out the serial numbers and added them to the side. Ex-FAAWAFU
Love your MS10 (life raft) - looks spot on (if a little clean; those things came flying with us an awful lot so tended to get fairly mucky on the outside). 1

Cheers Fella, We can certainly make it a bit more mucky, I did notice that they really did look battered in my Ref pictures. Out with the oil paint I fear Cheers Dan
Dads203
Started on painting the interior, basic blocking in of the colours at this stage. A couple of decals to add to the sea tray, some oil paint weathering and I can think about closing this one up soon ish Dan
Dads203
Started to weather up the main cabin. Also added the really small levers to the overhead consul, quite tricky to do. Enjoy Dan

xffw45343tg
How on earth did you get that level of sharpness on the overhead panel? Is that pre-printed PE and/or are you a wizard of some sort? If the latter, what spell do you use? Kirk

Dads203
Radar operators position gets some paint, this was hard to paint for some reason, I might have to redo this bit I've also primed the inside and put the first colours down for the main cabin, several tones of grey used so far, just the light is pretty dodgy and it’s not picked up well on the photo. Cheers for looking Dan

Ex-FAAWAFU
Nice Observer’s (“radar operator” somewhat under plays their contribution!) console - and that SAR valise on the inside port wall is amazing in this scale Edited November 25, 2017 by Ex-FAAWAFU
