Valom 1/72, Bristol Brigand B.Mk1

Recommended Posts

I finally finished something, and it's not even vacation time yet!:yahoo:

This model was started a long time ago, and back then it was the first short run kit that I've ever attempted. Due to reasons it stalled at 25% done, but after all work on a Beaufighter during the autumn I got the mojo back to do something about this one.

I had a fun time with the gun throughs and the cooling fans, but in the end they do look quite nice!

Not so much with the rocket rails though :-(

Anyway, here are the pictures

(yes I wil cut of the radiowires a little more. I just need to have a steady one first or time the cutting to my heartbeats)

Onwards and upwards.

One finished is worth two new on the bench and five in the stash right?

Here is a link to the WIP: (pictures from photobucket are blocked, but I might put them over to flickr if need be)

VERY nice result from a difficult kit - well done Christer, she looks wonderful. I especially like the detail on the rocket rails. Good job Sir! :)

Well done Christer, you've made a really nice model !

The subtle weathering is superb, especially around the engine nacelles. The kit really looks like it fights, but you won the battle :thumbsup2:

Best regards

Thanks guys!

I'm pleased with it, warts and all.

The main construction is not that hard, the main problem areas are related to the engine pods. The cowling is a tough one to mate properly to the firewall, the landing gear is a mess to sort out, and all the details in there are (appearantly) completely made up, but rest rest of the stuff is fine.

Except for the cockpit...and the gun throughs.

Ok, so it is a short run kit :)

I've always had a liking for the Brigand and seeing this has got me reaching for my wallet.

You've done a really nice job with yours and it will be a great inspiration when mine arrives.

Well done.

Hello Christer,

Very fine job on your Brigand, I really enjoyed it.

Yup one done is better than 35 on the bench, you're right

Nice painting and weathering , I like that post war paint scheme, and now ?? A PR XIX to go beside it ?

Congrats

Sincerely.

Brilliant job!

A rather fine-looking aircraft actually - your build really shows it off well.

Thanks for persevering with it - though none of that shows in the finished model!

:goodjob:

Yum! I love the Brigand and this looks the part!

You can't blame Valom too much for making stuff up - the only surviving remnant of this aircraft is a battered and gutted fuselage in store with the RAF Museum :(
