Alpha Delta 210
Great diorama, but as a Triumph fan, it is a sad scene! I never owned a Herald, but my father-in-law did, and have wondered about building this kit for him. Did it go together well (before the dilapidations!) Emu
The kit is skill level 1, not normally a car builder, but tanks and figures etc, it went together ok, a bit of flash, windows were a problem but other then that it is quite a basic kit, this is why i have done it like this to enhance it. Darby
I felt like doing that at times to my Heralds in the past.
cngaero
That's fantastic. A well thought out diorama with lots to look at and everything nicely presented. Thank you for sharing it.
Badder
Hi Emu. There's a couple of BM members who have a very similar style when it comes to dioramas/vignettes. I don't know if you've have seen theirs and have tried to emulate them (see what I did there?) or you've done it by accident, but hey, either way your diorama is fantastic. I love the crammed in details and the 'poignant' atmosphere of a machine given over to nature. I particularly like your thorny bush.... oooooh er missus! Can you tell me what you used to make it? Richard E
Very good - I think that's what's described as a potential restoration project isn't it?

Emu I remember the mini dio. Cool stuff. You should do the same with a WWII tank though. Rearguards, Badder
bzn20
Great job. you ever been to the Triumph Herald specialist "dealer" in Eastleigh ? Your diorama actually exists. His field and yard is full of your model. Not sure if they'll still be there now but about 98 ish I went all the way there after 'phoning them I wanted one to "play with". Couldn't believe my eyes when I got there. Looking around..Which one is around the £1500 mark you told me about? Oh that black one with the white side stripe. Long fur lined interior, 6" steel wheels with arch extensions, evil ! The other 20 odd heaps weren't as good as yours ! Coupes, dropheads all marks and a couple of Vitesses. Anyway I've been to your model zone. Thanks for showing ! Edited July 2, 2017 by bzn20
Billydick
Excellent, imaginative dios ... The Herald always brings back memories of my dad . He had a couple of them. Nice that Airfix are still producing the kit. BillyD
Scratchbuilder
My first car was a Herald S, the one without even carpets. 948cc. Alpine Lavender, September 1959 IIRC. It was chassis number 386! I sold it to a kit car builder on Canvey Island who put that chassis under his RMB Gentry kit car, so it could still be driving around. When I put the 1200 engine in it, the old one was so worn out it wouldn't run on anything but 2 star! That car taught me how to drive properly. Slow in, fast out and never brake in a bend or you'll swap ends! I've subsequently had 15 triumphs. Not one ever let me down and one of them took me all over Europe in the late 90s when I was working for the Germans, etc. as a cay modeller on show cars. Nice little set-piece there. The Herald is one of Airfix's best kits. Martin

Major_Error
Very nice Herald (and Mini) dio! My father has a Herald 13/60 (1967 model) in his garage. It has been left there since the beginning of the 90'th. It is in perfect original condition. (The roof has never been removed). I would like to make a copy of this. If I manage to find the right kits I can make a copy of the garage. It also contains a 97 MGF and a 2005 Rover 75. (Yes, British cars are great!) 8-)

Cadman
Reminds me of the Herald convertible I had back in the mid-1970's. It was a wreck as well. Edited October 26, 2017 by Cadman typo
