Junchan
Here's a close up shot of the scanner. Other close up photos are available in the Warpaint No.6 and Shackleton at War and Peace. And you can find a sketch of the radome in 28 September 1951 issue of the Flight magazine from Flightglobal at the link below. https://www.flightglobal.com/pdfarchive/view/1951/1951 - 1978.html Jun in Tokyo https://www.flickr.com/photos/horaburo/albums

Seahawk
If it helps, the radar was the ASV 13 employing a Type 85 scanner, having a 3 ft (92cm) mirror. It was an improved version of the ASV 11 fitted to late-war Swordfish and Barracudas. Source: Barry Jones: Avro Shackleton (Crowood).

Britman
Was it part of the Strathallan (?) collection, and where is it now?
stever219
VP293 was part of the Strathallan collection but was broken up in the late 'seventies IIRC. Only the nose survives and is, again IIRC, with the Shackleton Preservation Trust at Coventry Airport alongside WR963. Edited September 12, 2017 by stever219 Typos as usual

Much later than that. It was flown there in '76 and was still a whole exhibit when we were looking for parts when restoring WL795 in '88-'89, possibly it was scrapped the year after. stever219
That late?!?!? Thanks for clearing that up for me: I couldn't get at my references when I typed my original reply (still can't 😭).

71chally
Scrapped in Feb 1990 according to this source, https://abpic.co.uk/pictures/view/1367652 It was a great shame, as the last Mk1 type around, I guess when Strathallan collection closed it was inevitable that it would happen. huvut76g7gbbui7
I certainly miss Strathallan although its legacy lives on in the types that did survive the chop (Swordfish,Battle,AEW Avenger, Lysander,Hurricane and Spitfires to name but a few)
71chally
It's amazing the types that were there, and as you say we have to be thankfully that the collection had saved them in the first place. Shame about the T.4 though.
huvut76g7gbbui7
I was looking for a film of the Shackelton being delivered to Strathallan and couldn't find it so whilst I keep trawling, here's something for you all to peruse:
