Really interesting to see another Roc being bashed into shape. For such a relatively unknown aircraft to feature twice at the same time is most unusual - which is why I have pulled up a chair too....... without the donkey p....

Blue Chimay, ahhhh, that takes me back to an enjoyable couple of weeks at Florennes! Unfortunately work prevents me from attending Telford this year so at least one bottle will be safe! ;)

Ian

Hello Ian,

Florennes is only 22 Kms from my home, I spent at lot of time up there...

And Florennes Airbase is tied to the city of Chimay, the reason of the red shield adorned with a gold sword on the tail of the F-16's. That's the coat of arm of Chimay !!

And may be, perhaps, the reason of the not too moderate consumption of that delicious beverage....

Did you came up there for TLP ? Aaah the good old time of TLP

Sincerely.

Yes, CC, 12 years ago, for TLP, first and only time I was detached to Belgium.  I spent most of my time operating the squadron kitchen with two other aircraft techs during the week, enjoying Chimay in the evenings and sightseeing during the weekends! Good times and seems like yesterday! 🍺🍺🍺🍺🤣:rage:

Is this Chimay really on the tail of Belgian F-16?

If so I must make one.

There are different labels, different colours, single, double, TRIPLE!!!,  Trappiste...

Then, of course, we could discuss Duval :o!!

I'm not sure how many Britmodellers know the joys of Belgium :D 🇧🇪

Best regards

TonyT

There must be an opportunity for a drink related model collection here.  The Red Rippers VF11 badge allegedly originates from the Gordon's Gin label.  Is there more out there?

Résultat d’images pour blason de la ville de chimay Yup, there was this, and should still be at the base of the Florennes's F-16 tail.

And I know that it has been tagged on some visiting foreign aircrafts, remember seeing a Harrier with this coat of arm after an airshow

Be carefull with the Duvel, it is from the flemish word Duyvel, that mean devil. It is a treacherous one:evil_laugh:

Add to this the Buccaneer from Lossiemouth, with all the best of the scottish scotch or whiskey !

The Johnnie Walker Lancaster...

I like a gordon chilled with a little bit of pure orange juice....

What about the Booze related GB ???

Thanks CC. The Mem Sahib had a lovely time though I was/am unwell for most of it, having pushed myself way too hard with my voluntary work recently.

I must confess that I was more than a little surprised to see how unsullied my thread was as I would have thought that changing a Martian's thread was an opportunity way too good to be missed!

Perhaps we were all cowed by the unspoken but persistent threat of a tentacled invasion (War of the Worlds, Independence Day, Invasion of the Body Snatchers etc)?

I think it was more to do with thebaron's flying boxcar getting a hammering, you were spared most of it, oh tentacled one!  Hope you start feeling better soon!

CC, I had a dark beer from your homeland at the weekend, just a Leffe though, quite pleasant better than the blonde! 🙂

Hello Homer,

Goooood idea, I always favored the dork one, the only worthy blonde IMHO is the Triple Westmaele, and as TonyT told it, the Duvel.

Will be back in UK in a few weeks with my offspring, Mrs CC must stand by the dogs, "sad but true" Thanks James !

Sincerely.

Hello Martian,

Earthlings can also be Gentlemens , And after all, it's more fun when the main entry is on the game too:penguin:

Hey take care of yourself, but I can understand since I very oftenly push myself too hard, and then, I feel like I'm far more older than I really am :mental:

Thanks CC. I am always doing this but this time I have the gut feeling I have done myself some longer term harm. I am not looking forward to the inevitable interview with my doctor. She is not going to be impressed to say the least.

That is some very fine surgery on those clear parts indeed.

Thanks Martian,

Still, I must clean up the clear parts and then adjust it for an opened turret

Try to take some rest, I know it's easier to say than to do... Actually.

Hope that I can model this evening since my son must come to pick up his dog !

3 dogs even for a 15 days, it is a bit too much for my patience :P

See you later

Sincerely.

I'll better do Something about it ..

For the fuel tank, I glued the deeper parts of each fuel in one piece, Then I cut it and adjust it to the pilot bulkhead,

Here are the half tanks

WP_20170714_22_01_30_Pro

Trying to transform these kind of Dil.. for barbie doll into an acceptable air air soviet rocket !!

WP_20170714_23_10_46_Pro

Will make more tomorrow if I can.

Take care of you and have a very nice modelling day :yahoo:
