DaveJL
Decals on: Decals went on very well. The mass of stencils took a while, half of which are barely visible! All sealed with a top coat of gloss in preparation for a panel line wash. More soon. Dave

FortyEighter
Your exhausts look good, still struggling with the joint lines on mine and may go down the Eduard Brassin route.

They aren't the best, but with a bit of work clean up well.
DaveJL
Panel wash on: Left for about 30 minutes then the excess was removed. I then added the HUD frame, fuel tank, ejection seat, stabilisers, the IRST and finally the IFF probes in front of the windshield: Missiles were then finished, ready for some weathering: Next up is the landing gear. Jabba
Good work Dave, and the national markings add that splash of colour against the grey of the whole scheme.

DaveJL
That's her done. More pictures in the gallery and RFI here Enjoyed this kit, despite some of the issues. Here's a bit of a list for those of you (and me!) planning to build one, or more, in the future: 1. If planning to use either the Jets own FOD covers and/or aftermarket ones, leave out the main engine assembly and only fit the exhaust portion. 2. Shave off the locating pins when adding the rear section of the intakes (parts C61 and C62) 3. Use plenty of clamps when adding the landing gear wells. 4. At step 6, parts H1 and H6 are opposite to that shown in the instructions (left is right and vice versa) 5. At step 13, the main landing gear (parts C4 and C5) are opposites as above. 6. Leave off the fins until after you've added the whole intake trunking. Thanks to all who commented/followed. Dave
trickyrich
Well done!!! That wash certainly made the whole model pop and I like the subtle weathering, nicely done. Well thanks for joining, hopefully it was a reasonably trouble free and enjoyable build.
Jabba
Well finished Dave. I was just going to ask where you got the underwing pylons for the "Aphid" missiles when I read this build from the start to find that they came with the kit, they do not with the late kit which is a pity as I would like to fit them to my build or at least as training weapons. Muzz
Very nice, as previously mentioned the wash has worked exceptionally well with that scheme. Always liked the look of the Hungarian Mig-29's a very clean attractive look. Muzz
