Thank for sharing these great reference photos with us, my friend... That BF-109 looks like it has just rolled off the production-line. A very excellent restoration of an important aircraft type.

It looks like a great museum and very well worth visiting.

Cheers.

Chris.

I went there last year and only after looking at the photos did I realise I didn't go inside the AN22. My excuse is that it was 36 C and after spending six and half hours there my arthritic knees were protesting.

BTW it was another six an a half hours going around the nearby Sinshiem museum the next day.

Will go back again some day and I'll make sure to do the AN 22, but there is a limit on just how many Ju 52, dh Venom, Mercedes Gull wings you can see before you start saying "Oh look another one of them." and walking on past.

Wonderful photographs CC :).

Many thanks for sharing them. That would be a lovely way to spend a day.

Here in a museum in Canberra there is a completely unrestored Bf-109 G6 Erla.

It was heavily repaired during the war. It has something in common with the Nachtjäger; exposed areas of base coat, as around where the nacelles would have been on the wings here. RLM 02? Looks like it to me.

That locomotive is just stunning. I have old Fleischmann model railways; a big fan of these German locos. I'm wondering if one of the automobiles in the photos is a Horsch?

To the port rear of the restored Bf - 109.

A little question, any info on that very nice 'V' tail natural metal jet? I like it  .

Thanks again for posting these :).

Best regards

I came up in a C-5 galaxy in Chièvres AB years ago,

in a C-17 at Le Bourget and now the An-22

It is just bigger, Nothing more to see, I stayed in awe for the first time in the C-5, but the Antonov is just bigger. Point !

Even regarding the Jumbo Jet that is perched above her !

Sincerely.

I had a job that meant I spent a lot of time in the back of Hercs, it also meant I visited Long Beach to view the C-17 cargo hold, and I even had a hand in specifying the A400M cargo hold ("make it as close to the C-17 as you can"). As a result I'd be looking at the A22's cargo hold with a professional eye.

You've just got to love those two full length cranes and the lack of roller on the floor.

Definitely go to the sister museum in Sinsheim while you're there! These two museums are a real must see for all fans of any form of transport. The one in Speyer is particularly good if SWMBO is in tow as they have another building that might interest her (I forget what was in it - it wasn't transport related).

Thank Chimpion,

Believe me, when SWMBO is in tow, I better avoid any kind of aviation museum, she made one or two with me, enough for her !!

She was bored even in Hendon. I did had one day to spend since the hotel was 90 Kms far from there.

And I had a good 2hrs of another speciality, I mean "Stau"

At the radio they told about "Ein katastrophishe stau sonntag fur A8" but A5 did'nt fare better.

So Sinsheim is on my "to do" list not too far from Panzerwaffe museum in Münster !

Sincerely.

In the '70, I drived this pig of a car... Powerfull, but you have to keep the Wheel firmly because she did'nt keep the road.

WP_20170618_14_34_59_Pro

She fared a little bit better with 2 big sand bags in the trunk

Better look up your Navi - the Panzermuseum is at Munster (NOT Münster !), which is some 50-odd km south of Hamburg. Sinsheim is some 20 km east of Speyer ! So Sinsheim and Munster are well over 500 km apart (believe me, I was Born not too far from Sinsheim and now live not too far from Munster...).

Not sure if Dornier  built the Magister (I thought they were by Messerschmitt), but the one above the 109 Looks like the 4 seater.

The pseudo-F-4J (Angels) Looks like a paintwashed D with a fake navy BuAer # painted on - did the BA have 153xxx Js ?

Thank Tempest,

You're right, it's my mistake, I was about to go in Munster since SWMBO has a mantrailing meeting in Marl

and I'll get in Sinsheim when we will pay a visit to my wife sister in Frankfurt am Main, not on the Oder

Will look for the blues...

Have a nice modelling day.

Hi Corsair,

Marl is on the lower Rhine - that may be not too far from Münster, but as I said, Munster is in the Lüneburger Heide. Sinsheim from Frankfurt is manageable, though. --- I don't think any Pfalz D.IIIs survived, so in all probability it's a replica.
