Rivet, rivet, rivet... I didn't bother. After looking at PA474, FM213 (CWH's flying example) and W4783 up close, I realised the rivets are barely noticeable in 1:1 scale, let alone 1:48! I sanded them all off but it's your model to do whatever you feel looks right. Make sure you have a big spot for it - the finished thing is massive! 2

corsaircorp
Hello Dears, I also spent sometimes on this one.. But nothing worth a pic, always that tedious and boring riveting... Not the way of Martiacrispinization... But... To make you a bit, have a sight test now !! Stay safe Gents !! And happy modelling !! Sincerely. corsaircorp
Hello Dears, Huh, my poor Lanc.... I have to create new corrected air intake and finish this looooong protracted project.... Why did I have that weird idea of a complete riveting of Da Beast.... See you later Gents. CC

Chris Belcher engines are far better but it sport the large air intake (the side ones) for the tropicalized Lancaster. The ones that have to go in the Tiger force. But a fat man and a little boy make it irrelevant..... I would have used the kit as such but recessed engine nacelles and the rest of the beast with proud ones, that's why I started to engrave the whole kit.... Then I saw that some rivet lines (not all ones) actually ARE standing proud on the real thing.... You know what ??? Sincerely. CC

bar side
How come this thread started in 2017 and I have only just found it? What’s not to love about a big Lanc (apart from acres of rivets)? I keep passing a sly glance at the Tamiya Lanc kit and thinking of all the airshows I have seen the BBMF at. Usually in her City of Lincoln 1980s schemes. Would look good next to my Shack when that is finished

That will mean 3 Lancs for him when he'll finish that one.... Then 2 Halifaxes.... Let's say that a 1/48 Shackleton is very tempting..... Sincerely.
