Gardner95x
Hello, Built a Tamiya FW-190 JV44 and am now painting it, I've spray the top and on the bottom I need white and red paint for it. I've used flat white spray paint for the stripes on the bottom and it looks good, however I don't think I have the right red, it says in the instructions to use XF-7 Flat Red however I am not good at handbrushing and prefer to spray paint instead. I don't have a airbrush either. Can you get a flat red spray paint? Be it Tamiya or another brand, I have TS-49 bright red but it's too glossy. Greenshirt
The gloss is ok, after decals just hit it with a satin clear coat to knock the shine down. You could try Halfords...no idea which red is best, but they do make nice paints in a rattle can. The official color you want to match is red RLM 23, which to my eye is a deep, almost blood red. US Insignia Red looks similar but a little brighter and IMV XF-7 is too bright. No science intended, just an eyeball perspective.
