Tiger331
Hi Folks, Calling all 1:48 Focke Wulf Fw-190A kit experts !. I am looking to embark on a Focke Wulf Fw-190A-8 project but have just picked up on the fact that the particular airframe I want to model actually sported an A-9 style very late War 'Blown' canopy. Looking at the Eduard A-8 kit (which I had planned on using) and the same company's A-9 kit/instructions, the canopy sprue appears to be identical. Further the A-9 kit features at least one 'blown' canopy airframe but none of the canopies on the sprue appear to be as 'blown' as the drawings and any of my reference colour side profiles suggest !. Is there an aftermarket option out there or is, in fact, the relevant Eduard hood accurate ?. Thanks for your help
dfqweofekwpeweiop4
The Eduard Fw190A-9 kit I've got features both standard and blown canopies on the glazing sprue. I don't know if it's entirely accurate but it's clear to me which canopy is which. thanks Mike
tank152
The Eduard blown canopy is a bit of a joke to be honest, as you have probably noticed it isn't blown enough. I'd recommend that you purchase a Squadron vac formed one instead or if you don't fancy using one of those try getting your hands on a blown canopy out of one of the Tamiya Fw190 kits. Tim.
