RidgeRunner
Hi all, looking for guidance on the best such blocks/pads. Currently use Squadron sticks but I am looking for pads that i can use for more area polishing of paint. Essentially i want to buff matt paint in selected areas to represent such real life wear and tear. Any thoughts? Thanks. Martin
PDH
These are very good http://www.florymodels.co.uk/skinny-sticks/ scroll down for polishers Plenty of options for all sanders/polishers. I believe they are expanding the polisher range in the near future so worth watching what appears on the website. HTH P
PhoenixII
Martin, if I've read it right, you want 'em for polishing large(ish) areas of paint? Cheapest way, Superdrug! (other companies ARE available!) You need nail varnish buffers, and their a lot cheaper than 'dedicated' modellers tools! HTH Paul

HTH P Blimey forgot about Florymodels, used to click on it daily just to see what was going on, then he just did subscription only and never bothered again. Pity I just stocked up on another brand

bhouse
It's also worth trying some fabric scraps. Denim and linen work well. For a stronger effect, use them with a mild abrasive paste (eg toothpaste).

Martin Have you thought about micro mesh pads such as these... http://www.axminster.co.uk/micro-mesh-soft-touch-pad-abrasives-211364?gclid=Cj0KCQjwiqTNBRDVARIsAGsd9Mp3Yo5BsSTpHnXT5xa6lsJXfOfgo_nUkvSuiz1K4OhTZTZUrLOWeLIaAvQNEALw_wcB Or something like this http://www.axminster.co.uk/micro-mesh-mixed-pack-of-abrasives-211365?nosto=nto-st-pp-1 (you can get these cheaper else where) There are videos online on how to use these pads. I've got both pads and sheets and they give a great finish.
