Is that velvet wallpaper? Blimey. I think I feel a little sick...I hope Johnny likes Fin-de-Siècle1 Decadence more than I do.

Hope you have a good safe trip back home, Johnny

1 Maybe more Louis Seize? Me art 'istery ain't very good...but at a casual glance it looks lie a mish-mash o' styles, including American Frontier Log Cabin...

I did'nt remember well how it was before we're entering the home and started the party....

Did anyone know where is Lisa ??

Hope that we did'nt forget her in a bedroom before to leave.

Is'nt she in Spad mancave ??

Harvey keitel said that it was the best choice of colors, it hide almost everything.

Have a nice trip back ome Spad !

Sincerely.

I think we got all the sick off of the wallpaper, not so sure about the carpet thought. Anyway, if we give it a good squirt of Febreeze, I don't think Mrs Johnny will notice.

Relating to none of the above, I thought you guys might like a glimpse of who's parked up in the Solent outside Portsmouth - too big to get in.

USS George W.! Full compliment arranged on deck. Reckon she's got more hardware than the whole RAF !

This is my phone camera looking down my bins on a murky day. Best I could come up with.

Now, that's the kinda Cruise ship I'M talkin about...

tish and poo

I hope they made the entrance big enough for our new lady...

Last time I say her she was stuck head-first in the piano, or the 'goanna' - rhyming slag, you see - as it used mutter mutter grumble grumble to be called here in Oz (where these days most wouldn't even know what a pianner or a goanna woz, chiz moan drone1). Ced must have prised her out somehow :cyclops:. (oo-eer, fnaar, dribble)

Welcome back, Johnny :).

And a very BIG lady she is, too - long and wide, in the best UK armoured carrier tradition. At least, I assume that the deck is armoured. Be a bit weird not to be...

Hello Rob !

A US carrier near Portsmouth.... And I'll be there on the 25 of August Raaaaaaah  A missed rendez vous once again !

Yes the deck seem to be a little more crowded:wicked:, Nice sight , thank to share !

Hello Alex,

It was the title of a pretty good topic in SAM, "A kamikaze on a US carrier is 10 month at pearl at the best, on a limey one this gents, man your broom !! "

It gave me a good laugh !

Do you mean Something related to Katty Griffin ?

Sincerely.

I think it's very appropriate that a reference to St Custards would appear in one of Johnnys threads. He'll have the yellow out again now - any excuse, as any fule kno.

Right then you lot I'm back and I've changed the locks:D !!!!! Wasn't this about an aeroplane? Yes I think it was. Eager to get things back on track I got up a bit early. First off I needed to fill the last few gaps.

milliput to the rescue. First the front.

36094158052_59467b8b6c_b.jpg

 then the edges.

35867789370_30e2ae3f0b_b.jpg

Masking. Hmm seems tricky. :penguin:

36127032301_a1a238c943_b.jpg

I decided to mask off the holes too. I'll brush the edges later.

36219673096_7b66730e19_b.jpg

Now this bit.

35867789290_ae4a7ec2e8_b.jpg

I'm not sure what it is or why it's clear? It gets painted green in the instructions and I can't find any two prongs on my ref?

what I do know is it hinders the tail part fitting so I'll trim down and fit later.

so on with the tail, and use of milliput sausage shims.

35867788450_c1f8b6c63c_b.jpg

and smoothed ready for a little sanding.

36127032951_59743d7f2f_b.jpg

This part has guess what? Yes you got it created a step.

36127032961_a3ef203bcf_b.jpg

so out with a milliput sausage aaaand ready for sanding when dry.

36261582115_2a11d8deea_b.jpg

Next up I had my masking mojo up so.

36127032121_7ee214ed05_b.jpg

:o oooh this may take some time.

36219673066_94f9d0e2cc_b.jpg

playdough mop top hair shop anyone.

 at last one bit done.

36219674756_a51326fc48_b.jpg

The rest of the house woke up at this point so I need to stop for a while and do some none plastic things. I also need to pick up some Glue from town as my super glue has all dried up while I was away? Madness. Must have been the puffin. B)

Thanks for looking after the place while I was away.  More later on, hopefully paint.:yahoo:

See y'all later.

Great work on the taping there John.

Did you use a guide or template ?

Simon.

Sorry about the Puffin incident......

Thanks Simon. No I just did it by eye. I cut my thinnest Tamiya tape into sections then stuck it to the wing. Took.       For.      Evahhhh.

As promised I got an hour or so this afternoon and finished the ribs.

36136962141_8bf352ce26_b.jpg

the many, many, many ribs. I'm happy now. :yahoo: I'm planing on pre shading in black then coating in normal thinned Olive drab, removing the masking and spraying with slightly lighter Olive drab, hitting the centre points as I go.

first top pre shaded.

36136961811_b1d3930837_b.jpg

then the under side.

36103768982_432c010135_b.jpg

here is a quick shot of the side.

36136961631_4766d8ddee_b.jpg

looksbrather nice.  I need to tidy away dinner and put the kids to bed but before that I couldn't resist a little olive drab test.

35876065340_ec0683c33a_b.jpg

ooooh exciting! :penguin:

now I know I've not done the little bat wings on the join of the top wing, I'm adding them later out of foil, possibly quiche.

Thanks for popping in and having a looksie.

possibly more tomoz.

Tanke care and Happy Modelling.

Johnny. :D
