brodiebear
I decided to build Tamiya’s 1/48 Schwimmwagen, taking a break from Takom’s 57-2 (xx). It was a very pleasant evening last Thursday so set up on the patio with a nice cold pint of rekordling Cider and set to work. A couple of hours later and its virtually complete, needed half an hour to finish the build; All ready for some paint. The ‘highlighter’ marks, are so I can see which paints on the shelf are airbrush ready ;-) Edited June 5, 2017 by brodiebear
brodiebear
Painted the 'detail' bits last night, the wooden boards, oar, rusty exhaust and the canvas cover. Highlighted with good old dry brushing and dark wash into the recesses, also started work on the shovel. Chipping, dusting up plus some light mud next, followed by some foliage for camouflage.

Dry brushed with xf-59 and bish bash bosh all done.

brodiebear
Panzerfaust, base coated - next step is shadows and highlights ; Duffel Bags (?) - i did start to paint these wih AK canvas, but it just would not adhere to the resin, so base coated them with Tamiya German grey and then repainted with the AK colour, has left quite a nice affect - next step shading and highlights Back pack - painted and highlighted (washes) - next shadow wash to be added and dusted up. Mess Canteens - base painted - Apologies for my 'paint pot thumb' in some of the shots, but it does add a sense of scale to the gear. Items are Matt, just the light has given them a gloss coat !!, will all be dullcoated later Apologies for my 'paint pot thumb' in some of the shots, but it does add a sense of scale to the gear.
ScanmanDan
I like where you are going with this one. Tiny little things aren't they? All the little details make a great improvement and lift the whole model. I'm looking forward to what you come up with next. Thanks for sharing.
