general melchett
Looking good Neil, nice to see it in the flesh on Sunday, lovely finish... I was very impressed you managed to keep Roscoe away from the engines, maybe the training's starting to sink in!

woody37
Cheers guys, Andy, Roscoe would be in the bad bad books if he got hold of this one! Working on the weathering at the moment, still more to do on the wings by airbrushing the exhaust stains on, but the fuselage is pretty much there. The fuselage side windows will be getting some Crystal Kleer in them... Getting sick of looking at it at the moment so looking forwards to getting all the smaller bits finished off, bomb bay doors, undercarriage, front turret painted etc.
Turbofan
Hi Neil, So impressed with your cockpit masking, really crisp and sharp! Also the ever so subtle staining on the black portion of the fuselage, how do you achieve this, is it applied over the black or a colour showing through from underneath? Bet you can't wait to get on with your DC-9 and Comet! Cheers, Ian

Cheers, Ian Hi Ian, There is no pre-shading, the base colour has some subtle lighter tones using a strip of masking tape to spray against to get a straight edge. This is to replicate the lighting effect from panel distortion. There's some pastel work over the top in places to highlight some of the panel lines too, particularly the fuselage section joins, but that's about it. Yes, the airliners will make for a pleasant and hopefully simpler change Cheers Neil
