Troy Smith
interesting project, any reason for scratchbuilding rather than perhaps upgrading/converting a Battle Axe kit? http://modelingmadness.com/scott/allies/previews/Battle Axe/48ba05p.htm I believe JGMT did a resin kit as well. I know both are OOP, not to take away from a very interesting and impressive piece of scratchbuilding. Or is the C714R very different? Did you Speed Spitfire ever get finished? http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234993597-speed-spitfire-148/ They would make a great pair when done Cheers T

Battle Axe was JMGT for injected kit, there is a vacuum formed kit too. The Speed Spitfire is in stand-by, I've many truble with the canopy..... roadrunner
The dorsal fairing is a structure of CP + Miliput Superfine White + a mixture of cyano / talc to resume form missed at the first sanding session. The CP-structure of the nose and a tank tip of F-16 Italeri. All goes well-on being filled with miliput and sanded. The air intake comes from construction. A profile to motivate. Horatio Gruntfuttock
That is very serious scratch-building Mr Roadrunner and you are doing a wonderful job on it. I have contemplated doing one in 1/72 using the old Heller C714 as a basis. it is possible but would probably be easier to do from scratch. Presume you will do it in overall blue? roadrunner
Thanks Gruntfuttock. For 1/72 C714R, it would be better to start with the FSC-DUJIN kit: http://www.jfrteam-neufgrange.fr/pages/maquettes-fsc/fsc-dujin/caudron-c-714r.html The racer was painted blue after the Paris liberation, but for the speed reccord attempt, she would be unpainted (only 3 coat of hight gloss clear coat), Wood wings, stab, rudder with fabric covered ailerons, and metal covered fuselage(with clear coat too). roadrunner
Thanks all. Adding some details in the cockpit. In fact, the harness was never installed, so I remove it.... and the shape of the seat is false, I made another one, too big for the cockpit.... The third will be ok. [/url] Test fit, all's right.
